Does a Christian Have Eternal Security?

Since dad just died, many things have been on my mind.

But, I seem to be thankful most of all that dad was a saved man, meaning he went immediately to heaven to be with Jesus Christ.

Many people do not believe that you can know you are saved, or that anyone can be sure of their salvation.

Dad often used the following verses when touching on the subject of eternal security of believers with friends of different ideas.;

Ephesians chapter 2: 8-9

8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Galations 2:21

21. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Matthew 7: 22-23

22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Notice the word NEVER - Jesus said 'I NEVER knew you'. He didn't say 'I knew you once, but now I have forgotten you.

1 John 5:13 says, 'These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.'

If you have believed on the name of the Son of God, you can KNOW that you have eternal life. Remember that you are saved by grace through faith.

Feelings have nothing to do with it. If you sincerely asked God to save you, then He saved you. You may feel the wonder of salvation some days, and other days you may not feel so 'wonderfully saved'.

God is greater than how you feel. Satan can duplicate any feeling, so feelings are not the measure of salvation.

Sin in your life can cause communication failure between you and God, but it does not change your status as God's child. God will be telling you to repent. You may be making excuses and refusing to repent. But, you are still God's child.

God is not double minded. He does not love you today and hate you tomorrow. His love is unconditional. He loves you all the time, but He is not pleased with you when you sin.

When I was teaching school a 4th grader explained eternal security of the believer like this. He said, 'When you do bad things after you become a Christian, you can still go to heaven, but God will not be very pleased with you when you get there.'

AND, God will not stand by and allow the sinful ways of His children to go without correction in this life.

Proverbs 3:12 says, 'For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Eternal security does not give the Christian the right to sin. God does not like sin. He will do what all parents do with errant and wayward children. He will take whatever steps are necessary to correct His child's behavior; but, God will not disown the child that He has paid such a price to adopt. God Himself will not frustrate His own grace. He will not allow that Christ died in vain.

Do not make the mistake of believeing that all trials and sorrow in Christians lives are because of sin. Remember Job. He didn't sin and suffered terrible trials. When something happens in your own life, you are the one who has to figure out what is going on between you and God.

However, you do not have to start over at square one with getting saved all over again.

When you are saved your adoption into the family of God is final.

Your adoption documents are signed in the blood of the Lamb.

You are eternally secure.

Acts 16:30-32

30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
32And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

More Life Without Father

Daddy was a Christian man. He was also a man with a good life and lots of humor.
My husband Jerry and dad had quite a few 'excellent adventure' together. Many of them included my three brothers, and sometimes the entire family.

Jerry is pretty much overwhelmed by dad's death.
Jerry works with a bunch of what some people would call rednecks. In fact some people would call Jerry a redneck. Anyway, most of them really like Jerry and they could tell he was heart broken because he kept bursting into tears. They got together and ordered him flowers - a giant boquet of flowers.
They called a meeting and gave them to Jerry.
Jerry started crying, so he started trying to tell funny stories about things he and dad had done together.
Pretty soon, he had everyone laughing.
Then, at a quiet moment, they realized the man they were hearing about was dead, so they all started crying.
The upside to that is the big boss came in and told Jerry to take a few days off with pay - he wants Jerry to 'pull himself together'. He also wants to get some work done.
Humor is a good thing. We have all been laughing about some of the things dad got Jerry into, and some of the things they got into together, and some of the things that involved my brothers, and even the whole family.
Some of these funny things are hard to explain. You really just had to be there and know a little about the personalities of the people involved.
Dad always called mom by her childhood nickname - which was Chirpy - after a cute little squirrel in a children's book.
My grandad's favorite joke was 'What does a 500 pound canary say?" Then grandad would yell 'CHIRP" because that is what dad was always yelling. No matter what his problem was - he would yell CHIRP and my mom would come running and usually manage to fix what ever problem dad was facing.
Which reminds me of my grandad. He was a character as well.
Anyway, whatever you are facing, the love of God is what will help you the most. But remember, God gave a sense of humor. In times of stress and even sorrow, humor is a good thing.
Start now looking at things that happen in your life with a sense of humor. Remember who was there, what was happening, and of cours who was to blame for the entire incident. Of course if you were to blame for the incident, don't remember that one. Trust me, someone else will remember it for you.
In remembering dad, I remember his brother in law, my uncle Dean. Now there was laugh anytime you wanted one. I remember the time Dean had to give mouth-to-beak to his high dollar fighting rooster - but that story is too long to tell here.
Thinking of Dean, I remember dad's brother Joe. Dean and Joe weren't saved early on, so I probably shouldn't mention some of the stories I know about them.
I remember dad being such a help to his sister in law (mom's sister) when they were young. Merle is there with dad now. So are Dean and Joe. So are all my grandparents, and my sister.
I know dad will see my father in law who is there as well. And he will meet my father in laws brother who was killed d-day. Dad will see some of his friends who were killed in the war as well.
Dad will see his missionary friend whose plane went down in the mountains of Alaska.
Dad is in a good place. No sad farewells where dad has gone.
Thinking about all the people who are there that I know and love, it seems like I am missing a big party. this trip down memory lane almost seems like a reunion for me, too. I can almost touch some of these people and hear them speak.

Please pray for my mother.

AND, if you don't know you will go to heaven when you die, now is the time to settle the matter. Dad had a long illness, but my sister April just dropped over dead at age 33 with absolutely no warning,
You don't know how long you have. Settle it today. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Then buy a Thompson Chain Reference Bible and start studying.

If you get to heaven before I do look up my dad. Marvin Jonathan Wright. He will be glad to see you.

Humm a few bars of 'In the Sweet Bye and Bye' and think of all the people you will see in heaven.

One more thing. Not long after my grandad died I was wishing outloud that we could talk to grandad just a few minutes.
I said, 'Dad, if we could talk to grandad just a few minutes, he would tell us what it is really like in heaven, and what is going on there.'
Dad replied, 'No, he wouldn't Barbara. He would tell us to tell people how to be saved. He would have seen first hand what is the most important thing in the world.'
I believe dad was right.
The most important thing in the world is to tell people how to be saved.

Life Without Father

My dad died Monday.
He had been sick a long time.
We will all miss him.
We are all concerned about mom. They had been married almost 60 years.

Dad was a practicing Christian - which means he not only professed to be a Christian - he acted like one.
He was a veteran of WWII and served in the South Pacific.
Dad will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
He will also be missed by people who never knew him because dad supported his church, missionaries, and personally told people how to be saved and handed out gospel tracts on salvation to those he couldn't speak to. (There are a lot of Mexicans around where dad lived. He thought they should learn to speak English, but in the mean time he communicated with them as best he could.)
Who will care for these people now?
Will you?

The world needs more Christians like my dad. To loose even one Christian like dad is a loss to the entire world.
We need more Christians to stand in the gap left by dad.
We need more Christians who consistently live their lives in a way that is pleasing to Christ and tells the world they are different than the world.
We need Christians who love people the way dad loved them.
We need Christians who want a well done from the Lord more than they want earthly possessions.
Please pray for my mom.
God bless you.

Stiumilus Package = BAD NEWS for USA - Good News for Mexico

We are in the era of ‘change’. Everything seems to be changing – including language. New words and phrases are surfacing all the time – and I often don’t’ have a clue regarding exactly what they mean.
e-verify is one of those terms. It means something like employer verification that an employee is in the United States legally and eligible to work here. This is supposed to stop illegals from making the money – and sending it home to their native country. This is taking money out of the economy in the United States – and creating a nation that is short on cash. This is sort of like a family budget -= where more money is going out than is coming in, or instead of paying your own bills and providing for your family’s security – you are providing for and paying the bills for strangers,. The end is a bankruptcy and disaster for your own family. That is also the way it works nationally.

Now, this is important because of the democratic stimulus package. Apparently the democrats are having an identity crises – because they are confused about exactly which economy they are supposed to be stimulating!
According to WND – democrats do not want to include e-verify in the bill. Two republican senators have sent a letter to the democrats stating - "The stimulus package is intended to help ease the pain of the current recession and restore growth to our economy," the letter stated." If passed, it will be paid for by the American taxpayers and we believe that Congress should do all it can to ensure that American taxpayers are the intended beneficiaries of its efforts."
The government has estimated that the $104 billion in new spending should produce as many as 2 million construction jobs. The Center for Immigration Studies claims 15 percent of workers in the construction industry are illegal aliens – and that 300,000 positions are likely to be filled by noncitizens.

In addition to the importance of keeping the jobs and money in the United States – there is also the question of who will benefit from the jobs within the working class. It seems common sense is not to be considered. Obama’s economic advisor Robert Reich has stated in plain English that White Male’s should NOT get jobs or benefit from the from the stimulus. This statement has NOT been condemned by any democrats that I have been able to find. Reich is obviously a sanctimonious bigot. Without an immediate condemnation of Reich’s proposed distrubitution of funds – we can rightly assume that Obama is in full agreement. For all you white males who voted for Obama – I hope you don’t wind up needing a job – because your man in the white house has no plans to help you – but he does have plans to see that you are NOT helped.

Here’s one more item of note regarding the bailouts - GM is investing 1 billion dollars of its bailout funds in BRAZIL. This is in order to avoid some of the problems here in the USA. So once again neither the government nor the industries know which economy it is supposed to be saving and stimulating.
