More
Than a Baby – God With Us!
Christmas
is just page one of the Resurrection Story!
We should be so thankful that Jesus came at all, but especially in such
a humble way that can relate to all people.
But that is just page one of the story.
And, unfortunately many people get hung up on reading page one and never
go on to read the rest of the story! The
story of Jesus has a humble beginning, a growing up period , His work, His
public and cruel death on the cross, AND THEN…… (trumpet sound) His RESURRECTION! THAT is the real story. Don’t miss the real story by staying focused
on a baby who, like any other baby, was only a baby a very short time. He was already a ‘young child’ by the time
the three kings got there! (Mathew 2:9 – regarding the wise men going to see
the King – ‘When they had heard the king, they
departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till
it came and stood over where the young child was.)
A Christmas song that could be sung
every Worship service from Thanksgiving to Easter is ‘We Three Kings’. This song gives a condensed version of the
full story.
We Three Kings
We three
kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar.
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.
O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.
Born a king on Bethlehem's plain,
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign.
Bearing gifts we traverse afar.
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.
O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.
Born a king on Bethlehem's plain,
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign.
O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.
Frankincense to offer have I.
Incense owns a Deity nigh.
Prayer and praising all men raising,
Worship Him, God on high.
O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.
Myrrh is mine: it's bitter perfume
Breaths a life of gathering gloom.
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding dying,
Sealed in the stone-cold tomb.
O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.
Glorious now behold Him arise,
King and God and Sacrifice.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Sounds through the earth and skies.
O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light
