Do You Need Help to Cheer Up?

Do You Need to Be Cheered Up?  - Suggested Scriptures and Music
Barbara Henderson

If you are looking for a little cheer in this world you will find it in the Bible and in the hymnal.  I have posted some wonderful Bible verses and hymns that I find a game changer when it comes to getting past hurt feelings, impatience, sorrow, and problems. When the cares of the world are overwhelming or just seem very heavy I turn to these verses and songs.  I hope they help you.

The songs have links to youtube in case you don’t know them you can listen and get an idea what they sound like

Jesus exact words to help through trouble and assurance that He is the way to heaven
John 14:1-6
14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The resurrection of the living and the dead is going to happen

1 Thessalonians 4:13 -18
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

We are going to know each other in heaven
1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Heaven is going to be more wonderful than we can imagine
1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Believers go directly to be God – no waiting in limbo
2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
